Metsäkustannus is a multi-channel publishing house specialising in forestry. We are the leading provider of forestry information in Finland. Our business idea is to improve private forestry by publishing forestry information in various ways. The forestry journal called Metsälehti has been published since 1933. Its circulation is nearly 40 000 copies. The magazine format Metsälehti Makasiini was born in 1995. Metsälehti and Metsälehti Makasiini are a joint-magazine and together they are published 24 times per year. Metsälehti reaches practically all foresters and the main part of the active forest owners.

Metsäkustannus is also the main publisher of forestry books. We have about 50 titles relating to forestry.

We publish forestry news (Metsäuutiset) on our website every weekday. Also timber prices, open vacancies, educational material and much more can be found on our website. Our discussion group is very popular. Our website has more than 60 000 visitors per month.

Our newest information channel is the Forestry Information Files (Metsäkortisto). The versatile and comprehensive Forestry Information Files are a common tool for those involved in forestry. Our web-catalogue Metsä-tuotehakemisto includes more than 160 Finnish companies relating to forestry.

Paperi ja Puu – Paper and Timber is a leading trade journal of forest based industries. In the changes of the forest cluster and global markets, Paperi ja Puu – Paper and Timber magazine deals with knowledge, technology and markets. Every issue has a special theme and main articles are published also in English.  The circulation is about 4000.  The members of the Paper Engineers´ Association receive the journal free of charge as a membership benefit.  

Metsäkustannus is owned by Forestry Development Centre Tapio,
which is semi-governmental organisation for improving private forestry.
